Knitwear with style!

IT's official: Alessandro Dell'Acqua is to give knitwear label Malo an upgrade.

The long-running fashion-world whispers have finally been confirmed, with the Italian house releasing a statement confirming the appointment of the 45-year-old Italian designer as its new creative director.

"I feel flattered by the trust that this appointment implies," Dell'Acqua says. "I believe very firmly in Malo's projects and I am happy to bring my experience and dedication."

He steps into the shoes of 6267 duo Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi - who left Malo last month to take the reins at Gianfranco Ferre - and will present his first collection for the label at the spring/summer 2009 shows at Milan Fashion Week in September.
