H&M in Saudia Arabia

Swedish retailer and high street favourite H&M will open its first women-only department store in Saudia Arabia, it is reported.
 
"We will increase the number of women working for us and will have 40 in Saudi Arabia. H&M is embarking on an innovative development to open a store with women working in it," explains chief executive Mohammed Alshaya in today's Times, of the plans which are intended to bring more women into the country's workforce.
 
"It will have challenges, but we have to do it as this is part of our social responsibility to women in Saudi Arabia," he adds. Laws in Saudi Arabia mean that interaction between women with other men in public isn't allowed.
