Gareth Pugh gave his London Fashion Week front row a fright with his Wizard of Oz inspired autumn/winter collection.

Models hit the catwalk in silver, armour-like dresses with faces paints white, corpse-blue lipstick and long plaited hair swinging while they walk.

His signature exagerated shoulder shapes and night-time colour palette were softened with tiered wool coats, quilted jackets and hooded cashmere robes.

But there were still plenty to keep his faithful followers happy, with puffball skirts covered in black mosaic tiles and feather adorned jackets teamed with Swarovski encrusted emerald green leggings.

"It was very abstract, based around the Wizard of Oz said Pugh to Reuters,"Dorothy as a very statuesque warrioresque barbarian -- very feminine shapes but doing them in a way that is very aggressive and hard."
